Amma, Universal Mind (AUM) is Swami Amritageetananda Puriji’s third book, where he shares insights into the challenging task of controlling the mind and highlights the importance of an Enlightened Master in guiding us through this journey. Using examples and teachings, Swamiji shows how the human mind is often the greatest obstacle on our spiritual path, echoing the wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita, where Bhagavan Krishna describes the mind as restless and difficult to control. Yet, with regular practice and dispassion, it can be tamed. Just as the warrior Arjuna regained his strength with Sri Krishna’s guidance, we, too, need a Master to help us over-come life’s challenges.
We are blessed because the Supreme Being who once incarnated as Sri Krishna has now incarnated as our Amma. Under Her com-passionate guidance and practical teachings, we find the path to controlling our minds and uniting with the Divine much easier, leading us to the ultimate goal of human life.
